Last week, the JSerra girls’ varsity volleyball team reached out to help some soldiers in Afghanistan by donating items that they all share a love for – volleyballs. The varsity team learned about the military base in Afghanistan that has an outdoor volleyball court, but no volleyballs. Days before the anniversary of 9/11, the varsity team collected volleyballs, and then gathered together to write messages of appreciation and encouragement for the soldiers on the volleyballs. The balls will be shipped to the base in Afghanistan this week.
